For this school project, we needed to make a cube world in blender with an attraction on it for the Efteling. Everyone got a random fairytale that you had to work with the one I got was 'Peter Pan'. There were a few things we had to keep in mind the attraction needed to be for the age 15 - 20, we had a 20x20 meter space to work with (the height didn't matter) and we could only use a maximum of 16 colors. in the rest of this behance page you can see my whole progress from begin to end.
The fairytale I got to work with was Peter Pan, I was really happy with this because it is one of my favorite movies of all time. I already knew a lot but I still did some more research and this is what I found:
Peter Pan is a boy who didn't want to grow up so he brought children to Neverland where you always will be a kid, the big lesson in this movie is that you need to enjoy having fun as a kid but when time comes you need to grow up.
My first concept was to make a flying simulator, this would give the vibe of flying in Neverland just like the kids did. You would have the option to control your own seat by moving your side pannels so you could make the attraction as scary as you want.
The Theming for this attraction would be a mix between pirate and the happy lost boy's theme because they took over captain hooks ship.

My second idea was to make a Ferris wheel with little boats as carts, a Ferris wheel is something the Efteling doesn't have yet but I don't if it would fit the age 15-20 good, by making the surrounding area a bit scarier I could still get it in that 15-20 age I need to.

My last Concept was to make a restaurant made in a pirate theme where food would be delivered to your table by a small boat passing by. the kitchen would be at the top so the boats would have enough speed to go trough the whole restaurant. This idea is inspired by the restaurant Foodloop in Europapark where the food comes on a little rollercoaster to your table.

The concept I choose to work out was concept 1 the flying attraction, I made this choice because the flying part in the movie could be linked really well and it would be the perfect attraction for the age 15 to 20. To work this out the first thing I did was look at the construction of the attraction in a game called planet coaster, In this game I could look at a detailed 3D model of that kind of attraction. The next steps where making a mood board and making sketches of all the parts I wanted to include in the attraction.
In my mood board for this attraction, you can see that I want to have a pirate theme mixed with a happy vibe theme this is because the lost boys reused the ship from captain hook to make this attraction.
